Hydraulic
seals are a vital element of many types of machinery as they act to block
or separate fluid existing within specific applications. Hydraulic seals form
part of a collection of rings which form a construction and are commonly a
soft, non-metallic ring made from a number of different materials including
polyurethane, rubber and Polytetrafluoroethylene (also know as PTFE). The
type of material used for hydraulic seals is usually dependant on the conditions
at which the seal is operating; some machinery may encompass limitations such
as temperature, pressure and chemical compatibility.
