“O” Rings Elastomer

An “O” ring Elastomer is an elastic/rubber-like material commonly used for seals and adhesives as when parts of machinery fit together. “O” ring elastomer can be used to connect the two with a tight fit. “O” ring elastomer is a valuable resource in this situation due to its versatility as at room temperature, Elastomer can be stretched a number of times to at least twice its original size and also retrieve to its original shape.

While most elastomers are thermosets, thermoplastics are also found and relatively easy to use in manufacturing, for example, by injection molding. Thermoplastic“O” ring elastomers have the distinct qualities of both plastic and rubber, making this a versatile accessory demonstrating many differences to thermoset elastomers due to the crosslinking bonds in their makeup which are vital to elastic properties.
